24 Hour Museum
Wonderful site, with an extensive 'Museum Finder' index covering the UK for finding any museums within a particular area. One of the best features is the 'Trails' link, which contains selections of recommended museums and exhibitions by area and theme, saving a great deal of time and hassle, a superb idea and a good selection of different themes. The site also contains a number of interesting articles in the 'Magazine' section on a good variety of topics and often with links for further in-depth information. A section for youngsters (Y24) is also available.

Tate Modern
An excellent site as one may expect, with information on visiting, collection displays, special exhibitions, public programs and information regarding the Bankside power station building itself. Also contains links to associated Tate sites.

Art Republic
Sales of art books (over 35,000) and posters, with a superb range of quality reproductions from a wide variety of artists at reasonable prices which include delivery. A 'What's On Worldwide' guide to exhibitions is also available, as is a travel guide to 'art' cities.

Guggenheim Museums
Source of information regarding the Museums in New York, Bilbao, Venice and Berlin. In addition to opening times and locations there are details of current and planned exhibitions and the history of the museums and their founder, Peggy Guggenheim. There is also an online store with a good selection of interesting gift ideas.

Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)
First opened in New York in 1929 with just 9 works, today the MoMA has over 100,000 works and was the first museum to focus on modern art. There links to 'What's on Now', the current 'Collection', 'Educational Resources', 'Visit the Museum' and an 'Online Store' with some expensive items on sale. There are details of guided tours, special packages, group visits, opening times, parking etc.
